1. Course Goals and Objectives

Advanced Textile Coloration Theory and Technology is a key course for the foreign postgraduate students majoring in Textile Chemical and Dyeing Engineering. The course is offered with the aim of training foreign postgraduate students to master the color principle and technique, broadening the students’ horizon of knowledge in novel dyeing and finishing and providing the foreign students with fundamental knowledge of dyeing and finishing processing of special textiles technology. The main content of the course ink-jet printing, sol-gel functional modification, pigment dyeing and electrochemical deposition.

2. Course Requirements

The Advanced Textile Coloration Theory and Technology course is instructed in multi medium for foreign postgraduate students. The course enables the students to acquire the skills of novel color Theory and Technology to textiles. The classes, such as the principle of Dyeing and Finishing Technology, Dye Chemistry, Fiber Chemistry and Chemistry and Physics of Fibers, will contribute to this class. Some new dyeing technology, such as ink-jet printing, sol-gel functional modification, pigment dyeing and electrochemical deposition, will be introduced to the foreign postgraduate students.

4. Course Assessment

Advanced Textile Coloration Theory and Technology is an elective course for the foreign postgraduate students majoring in Textile Chemical and Dyeing Engineering with the requirement to participate in a final comprehensive homework. The final grade is evaluated based on the regular performance and the scour of final homework. The regular performance is composed of class attendance and homework assignments. The regular performance and the final comprehensive homework account for 40% and 60% of the final grade, respectively.
